Moving house is said to be the most stressful thing an individual can do. Conquer your fears this month with our top tips on how to have a stress-free moving day!

1. GAME PLAN

PLAN – to avoid any last minute rushing, plan how your moving day will go a few weeks in advance. Will you need professional help moving furniture? Do you have the keys? How long will moving boxes take? Preparing and organising before the move will make the day go much smoother – and hopefully quicker!

2. KEEPING TRACK

Number each box as you pack to make sure you aren’t missing any when you unpack – great if you are forgetful like us!

 

3. SPACE SAVER

Use bath towels or clothing to wrap up fragile crockery. This way, breakables are protected and space is saved in clothes bags.

 

4. HANDY HANGERS

Bag up clothes on hangers straight from the wardrobe with large bin bags, keeping clothes together and saving time by not having to fiddle with hangers!

5. PACK-SAVVY

Bit of a book-worm? Books tend to be the heaviest items to pack, so store your literature in wheelie suitcases to avoid any broken or overloaded boxes (as well as strained backs!)

 

6. SPEEDY UNPACKING

Label your boxes to indicate which room they belong in, useful if you’ve roped in a team to help you!

7. CHEAT

No need to empty chest of drawers, just tape the doors shut and keep all your stuff in it’s original place - nice and easy.

 

8. SAFE AND SOUND

Wrap framed pictures, mirrors or photo frames in cling film to protect the glass and to avoid scruffy chipped corners.

9. TIME SAVER

After completely emptying a drawer or cupboard, leave it open to show it’s been done, saving time on double checking.

10. AVOID A MELT DOWN

Save a box for things you might need during moving day. Pack essentials such as snacks, drinks, a change of clothes and most importantly, a can of calming Soft & Gentle Jasmine and Coco Milk for dependable protection around the clock!
