Christmas movie countdown!
The S&G office has been in turmoil this week whilst trying to choose our all-time favourite Christmas films. It was a close-run thing and selecting our top 5 was tricky! But here it is, the S&G festive film rundown.
5. Love Actually
At number five, we follow an all-star cast including our favourites Colin Firth and Hugh Grant around the lives of eight different couples around the frantic month leading up to Christmas. This film is a guilty pleasure that we watch every year without fail.
4. Santa Claus: The movie
Created in 1985, this movie might be old but it has the perfect formula for a great Christmas movie: magic, Love and overcoming the bad guys to spread Christmas joy to all.
3. Miracle On 34th Street
Warm and fuzzy feelings all round as Susan, a serious six-year old girl, finds out miracles can really happen if you believe!
Elf is a fun festive treat! The story follows Will Ferrell as a hapless Elf on a journey to get to know his real father. Along the way, he causes suitable amounts of chaos, manages to fall in love and spread plenty of Christmas cheer by singing loud for all to hear.
1. Home Alone
If you watch one festive film this Christmas, make sure it includes Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Home Alone 1 and 2 are guaranteed to make you laugh, cringe and if you are soppy like us… shed a tear!
